Imagine two people speaking: one speaks in samples and drumbreaks, the other in strings and a hushed voice. Together, they speak of longing, love, and the state of things. This is Axis of Conversation.

Singer/guitarist/sample artist Chris dela Torre has built a charming ensemble with violinist Shelly Groves, cellist Cheryl Bergen, drummer Matt Doherty, bassist Eric Estor and multi-instrumentalist Gerry Dacanay, and their debut album 'Delusions of Safety' has climbed college rock charts nationwide.

Since his apprenticeship in the Canadian jazz scene of the late 1980's Vancouver based guitarist Stephen Fisk has carved out a unique musical niche for himself. His recordings and performances with Troika, Freeplay, the Chris Tarry Group and Uncommon Gold, have garnered him critical acclaim across North America.
