The music can be hard driving and challenging, and there's an undercurrent of melancholia to a lot of the material. When the musicians lock into a pattern as they do on most of this album, it's a treat to listen to. You and Yours was recently nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award, 'Outstanding Jazz Recording', 2007. Wasn't a winner this time, but nice to be nominated. This is one of the least challenging listens on the recording, there is some crazy ass electronics and free improv there.
